As a Senior Consultant with Higher Digital, Fred Rocha’s primary aim is to assist individuals and institutions navigate the complexities of higher education information technology. He plays a vital role in helping colleges navigate the constantly evolving landscape of technology, ensuring that they stay up-to-date with the latest innovations and best practices to support their educational mission effectively.
Throughout his 39 years of service in higher education, Rocha has served the needs of a wide variety of constituents. He held technical and instructional leadership positions in private colleges, universities and in the California Community College system. His unique blend of technical, instructional and interpersonal skills continues to be sought out by those addressing the needs of diverse populations and seeking successful transformational outcomes.
Rocha served on numerous California higher education committees and twice received the California Community College Chancellors Office Technology Focus Award for Statewide system redesign and Statewide Transformational Leadership.
Rocha retired as the Chief Information Technology Officer for Coast Community College District in 2022. He served as the Southern Section Vice-President of the California Chief Information Systems Officer Association (CISOA) and President of California Community College Banner Group (3CBG). He is one of three founding members of the California Community College Consortium, Information Systems (4CIS).
Rocha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Instructional Technology.
