George Mason University processed financial aid awards on paper and outside Banner, which created accounting workarounds and compliance risk. Higher Digital designed and implemented a Financial Aid Award Workflow in Ellucian Workflow, tightly integrated with Banner Financial Aid and Banner Finance.
The new workflow enforces eligibility checks, international tax review, and grant approvals before funds are released, and it updates financial systems at the moment work happens. Award processing is now 100% digital, with zero duplicate academic-year data entry.
Every award is accurately classified, charged, and visible across financial aid and finance. Awards now move from initiation to completion in hours rather than days.
